This is a brilliant addition for my gaming set up in my bedroom. First of all, the build quality is spot on. Its solid, smooth, and easily supports my hefty 34 screen with room to spare. It holds anything from 17 up to 45, so its future-proofed if I ever decide to go even bigger. Adjusting the height and angle is a joy, and it stays exactly where you position itno sagging or wobbling. The built-in cable management is a nice touch too, keeping everything looking tidy behind the scenes.
But lets talk about the fun bit: the RGB lighting. Totally unnecessary but totally brilliant. It adds that little extra bit of flair to the desk and looks great during evening gaming sessions. Overall, I am chuffed to bits with this nifty monitor arm. If you are looking for a monitor arm thats strong, smooth to use, and has a little extra gaming glow, this is the one for you. This is an easy 5/5 review for me. Awesome!
This is a really cool piece of kit and I didn't realise how much difference it would make to my general pc use and gaming experience. It has made such a difference to be able to easily manoeuvre the screen where I want it depending on whether I am gaming or just doing some general work. Now I can put the screen in an optimal position for my comfort, plus it looks pretty cool on this metal arm as well!
The arm was pretty simple to set up and I love how sturdy and secure my screen feels. The arm is incredibly strong and well made and doesn't feel even the slightest bit flimsy. The instructions did give the impression that the tools needed should be with the arm, but they are not. Luckily I had the required tools available at home anyway. You need a 4mm hex key and a slotted screw driver. There is a hex key to adjust the main bolts for the resistance and it comes with 2 sets of screws for the mounting plate.
The light is a funky addition but not something that really sells it for me personally, but the teenage boy likes them!
Overall it is a super bit of kit and I am very happy with how it functions.
Im using this monitor arm with a Samsung 8G 32 and its great.
If setting up with a heavy monitor you should have someone help you. Chances are that there wont be enough tension in the top half of the arm to keep the monitor up and if youre not careful the monitor might fall quickly if you let go of it. The tension screw is behind the rubber stopper on the top half of the arm. You have to use a lot of force with the screw to get it right for a heavy monitor. All the necessary tools come in the box. Aside from the tension screw and maybe having someone help you if using a heavy monitor, the whole installation process is very straight forward.
Once mounted and balanced, the arm is excellent. I find it really easy to move/swivel my monitor and raise it up and down. The arm allows me to mount a video camera behind my monitor and when I need to use the video camera I just swivel the monitor out of the field of view of the video camera and start filming.
The build quality is really solid and while it does look very pointy and angular, it does look good. Im not into lighting but the RGB lights in the base do look quite nice. Given that my monitor costs over 1000 and this arm works perfectly with it, Id have to say that it is good value for money. However, if you are using a cheaper or smaller/lighter monitor then the value proposition of this arm does become less.
Bottom line, its great for my use and Im totally happy with it.
